Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)

6:40am- Iowa has pulled casing back some and will attempt again to get casing down some. They are currently running at 1% instead of the required .5%. 

No headway was made yesterday due to equipment issues. 

Crew making repairs this morning to bore machine. 

7:30am- crew will begin again today with trying to get MH A25 tied to bore. 

8:45am- 2nd joint going in now. 

9:40am- 4th joint before gravel. 

11:20am- more rock is being broke on up to manhole. Still 4 joints placed without gravel on top so that piping can be connected to manhole once there. 

11:55am- MH A24 getting wrapped and strapped on top now. 

Also 2 joints of pipe were taken back out due to the amount of water coming into ditch. 

12:55pm- Rip Rap bank stabilization area is marked out on MH A24 side. 

1:15pm- keyway is dug down to solid rock and rip rap is now being placed. 

2:25pm- cap is pulled loose from MH A25, but now the crew is chasing the laser downstream due to the gush of water going into the pipe. 

3:20pm- laser is located down at MH A23. Crew continues now with digging out at MH A25. 

A look back at MH A24 side where a bit of rip rap has been placed. 

4:05pm- 3joints total have now been removed from ditch that were laid today and gravel is getting regraded so that pipe can be relaid on up to and connect into MH A25. 

5:05pm- crew is calling it a day. After setting laser back up and installing two pipes back in ditch, the grade is off by 4”. Something is wrong. Crew will tear pipe back out Monday. 

5:25pm- Iowa appears to have rest of the 2nd piece of casing in now, but no one is onsite for me to ask foresure. I’ll check back on the job on Monday.

6:50am- Iowa has pulled bore machine and augers to attempt another steering maneuver. Its wanting to climb up, so they are trying to steer it back down. 31’ of casing is is at this time. 

7:50am- crew pumping water so that line across bore can be tied into manholes today here at A24-25. 

10:10am- pipe almost connected to casing and MH A24. 

10:30am- now connected and checked with level. 

10:45am- 6.25% slope across bore to MHA24. 

11:00am- boot is on between casing and pipe as gravel backfill occurs. 

1:20pm- seal at casing and pipe on MH A25 side is now being installed. 

2:00pm- jackhammer work occurs headed towards MH A25 from bore area. 

Heavy rain begins also and crew calls it a day again.

7:00am- Iowa is in about 25’ so far. They had some issues yesterday with their equipment, but have ot resolved now. 

7:30am- pump is getting set back up to pump water from pits so that grouting around casing can be done this morning. 

8:25am- grouting of casing at MH A25 now occurring. 

9:45am- more grout going in on MH A24 side now. 

10:40am- the trench seal for MHA25 side of creek crossing is now done. 

1:10pm-trench seal on MH A24 side is now completed. 

2:00pm- pipes are now getting reinstalled into casing at creek crossing A24-25. 

3:00pm-Heavy Rain has started and crew will button things up to call it a day.

6:50am- Iowa has 20’ of casing in at this time. 

8:00am- more casing was welded on here at MH A24-25 creek crossing. Crew will work to get this all tied in today. 

9:05am- carrier pipe is getting pulled and casing that was just welded on will need to be cut off and rewelded to get it straight and back on grade. 

Also at this time, Rip Rap is being delivered to E line crossing area for bank stabilization. 

10:30am- casing will have to be pulled due to a sag that has occurred over time. Crew will move onto next creek crossing at MH A18-19. 

11:20am- Crews are back here at MH A24-25 creek crossing to get casing right. Crew is trying to spin casing to get low spot up. Grouting will be done afterwards. 

12:40pm- pipe is spun and most of the dip is out of it. 

3:20pm- casing is spun a little more after a better means to rotate pipe was figured out. Grouting of casing will be at 7am tomorrow morning. 

4:05pm- crews have moved to MH A18-19 area to get the casing to grade on each end yet today. 

5:20pm- crew is rechecking grade on casing. Tomorrow we will rotate casing to get sag out of it. 

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - RL Persons (L.S.)

6:40am- RL is pretty much finished except for the painting of the force main, asphalt patch work, fence and start up.  No crew is onsite today.

7:20am- crew is placing pumping to get pits ready for concrete today for the trench seals to be installed here on E line crossing. 

8:20am- digging under casing to get the required clearance for concrete. 

8:40am- Hose has blown on the excavator! Theres gonna be some down time. 

10:15am- spacers are getting installed on pipes for creek crossing at MH A24-25 while they wIt on concrete. 

10:55am- spacers are now on the pipe. 

11:30am- concrete now onsite. 

11:35am- west side on E line trench seal. 

8yds of concrete applied on West side. 

East side 24yds applied. 

1:35pm- MH A27 is getting barrel section changed out due to a crack in it. They are also wrapping and strapping this today. 

2:05pm- Done. 

2:14pm- crew will set pump and pump water from pits at MH A24-25. 

2:45pm- crew now loading casing with carrier pipe at creek crossing at MH A24-25. 

3:55pm- carrier pipe is in, but it appears that the casing is short by 20’. Additional casing will be added. 

4:15pm- crew will wrap things up here today, making necessary changes so casing can be added on. 

4:45pm- concrete is poured at Head and tail walls for Bore Machine now.
