Turkey Creek Ph 1 - RL Persons (L.S.)


6:50am- crew onsite to strip forms from outside walls, break ties and begin patching them. 

A look back at the top with rain falling. Appears to be no standing water other than at the edge, but that will go away once forms are pulled. 






-7:05am- I’ll be headed offsite to deliver cylinders to PPI from yesterday’s pour. 

11:15am- forms are coming off and starting to look like a lift station.

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


7:35am- crew has changed some today and for the future. Two guys have been moved offsite and we now have a new pipe layer. Water is being pumped first thing. 

9:10am- 1st joint for today going in. 

9:35am- bedding on 1st joint. 

10:10am- 2nd joint goes in. Bedding getting placed. 

11:30am- 5th joint now in and bedding is getting placed. 

1:30pm- 6th joint now in place for today. 

2:50pm- the crew allowed water to back up in ditch when pump was getting moved and the 6th joint has floated up by several inches. Crew is now in the process of pulling the joint and relaying it. I am now headed to WWTF for pouring of the top on Liftstaion. 

5:00pm- Im back now and they say the pipe was fixed and the 7th joint for today was laid. Crew will fix roadway and cleanup some to finish out their day.

7:00am- concrete crew only onsite to place rebar and hatches for lid. Possible pour on lid this afternoon.

12:40pm- Hatches are placed and bottom rebar is getting tied. 





3:20pm- top layer of rebar is tied, but a couple of issues. Rebar needs placed under corner of lids. 

Now fixed. 

4:10pm- concrete getting placed. Testing was done with the following results; Air: 4.5%, Slump: 4”, Temp: 62*F. 3 cylinders are made. 

5:45pm- final touches going on top. 



I’ll be headed offsite now.

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


8:00am- rock is getting hauled to roadway while pumps are pumping to get water from ditch. 

Excavator has to smooth up roadway so I can get in. 

8:30am- ditch has a bunch of water still running through it.

9:45am- excavator backfilling over concrete encasement in between loading haul truck with rock. 

10:40am- ditch is now opened on up for pipe to begin getting laid today. 

11:45am- crew digging a bench so pump can be lower. 

12:50pm- ? Pumps are getting moved now???

1:25pm- pump is set back up at pipe end of ditch and is getting primed. 

2:15pm- water is now below pipe, but laser is moving all about...crew is deciding what to do about it.

3:40pm- crew is calling it a day due to the uncertainty of the laser. Water is now filling hole back up. 

5:00pm- area of 12” line where project started near Sub Station is getting graded out and soul applied to it.

6:55am- ceiling supports are going in and I went over hatch openings and placement with Mike this morning. I called Mike Todd for placement of 6” by-pass valve. I will have them move it to the bottom per his recommendation. 



12:00pm- crew still working on getting top of LS ready. Hatches are now going up to the top for positioning. 

Crews will leave at 1:00pm today.

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


Crew to be onsite today to attempt to lay more pipe. Iowa Trenchless will not be back until around the 7th of April. More blasting is needed in the bore pit on Laytons, but water is an issue there now. 

12:00pm- 4th joint of pipe going in now as crew has laid up to the encasement crossing at STA 85+65. Rebar cage is getting installed as they go. Pipe is laid on blocks for grade purposes and to allow concrete under the pipe. 





1:15pm- water is pouring into ditch as the crew will have to break rock with hammer due to a high spot. 

4:30pm- 6 joints of pipe now laid. Cage is in place and concrete begins going in. 





5:55pm- concrete still going in on encasement.

7:35pm- encasement now completed. Crew will call it a day.
