Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


6:40am- Iowa finished bore late last Friday. They will return after Labor Day to install carrier pipe and spacers. 

8:00am- crew is moving equipment around and will begin loading carrier pipe in creek bore @ MH A14-15 here shortly. 

9:55am- welder has finally arrived onsite to weld the guide rail in the casing so that the pipe and spacers can be installed. 

11:20am- welding is done on guide rails as crew checks grade one mor time with laser. Shows .70%. 
Carrier pipe placement will now begin. 

11:40am- 1st joint going in as tracer wire gets attached. 

1:30pm- pipe is now through casing. 

2:25pm- gravel going down for rest of pipe to connect MH A14 to bore. 

3:15pm- Bore is now connected to MH A14. Boot and gravel to be applied next. 

4:15pm- work has stopped at A14-15 so that crew can shoot grade at MH A8-9 for final creek bore.

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


6:30am- Iowa welding on another casing this morning. They are at 165’. About 2-3’ and they will be punched through into over blasted area on receiving side. Then they should be able to add last casing and push rest of the way. 

7:15am- Del-Sha now has casing pulled back into bore at MH A14-15. Flatcreek will shoot grade on it here shortly to see if they can get enough grade now through casing. 

8:30am- MH A15 side of casing about 1/2” high. Gravel will be placed at bore around casing and then the other side will be raised slightly. 

10:05am- casing is now at necessary grade to match both manholes. The laser is showing a .70%. A bucket of water was just dumped through casing to ensure flow. 

10:45am- setting up to shoot grades on casing at bore on MH A18-19. 

12:30pm- the laid pipe from MH A17 on the last couple of joints appears to have floated up about 2” or so. Casing also has a sag of 7” in it. Crews are trying to figure out what exactly to do. Pipe will foresure have to be dug up and reset. 

12:40pm- seeding s occurring on Rittenhouse today in area of MH A25-27&E1. 



1:40pm- Crew back over at MH A28 area to continue with cleanup. Open cutting creek crossing A18-19 is currently being discussed. More to follow next week. 

2:00pm- Ill be offsite rest of the day.

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


6:40am- Iowa has water in their pit this morning as they are approaching the other side at about 165’ in so far. The entire line is draining to this pit now. 

7:10am- crew back laying line near MH A28. Encasement and slope anchor to be poured today. 

8:30am- rebar is now in place for 30’ encasement later today. 

10:00am- slope anchor rebar going in place. 

11:20am- concrete going in at slope anchor now between MH A29-30. 

11:50am- encasement now getting concrete between MH A29-28. 

12:15pm- now completed. 

1:00pm- excavator has a track off and the crew will work to get it back on. 

4:40pm- MH A28 is set and 12” line is all tied together 
including the bore. 

More gravel to be applied, then backfill.

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


6:40am- Iowa is now at 145’. Another piece of casing will be welded on and boring will continue. 

7:10am- crew back working on Line A at MH  A29-30 breaking rock. 

9:00am- MH A29 base now set in place. Gravel will go down next for line to be laid between the two manholes. 

10:15am- 2nd joint in upstream of MH A29. Slope anchor area dug as well. 

11:55am- MH A29 now tied to A30 with pipe. Area left not graveled is for slope anchor. 

12:05pm- two joints now laid downstream of MH A29. 

2:05pm- pipe now down to encasement area crossing dry creek at STA 114+50. 

3:50pm- backfill of line laid today is underway and cages for encasement of pipe are getting built. 



4:30pm- appears Iowa has achieved another 12-15’ today at this time.

Flatcreek is not working today due to equipment issues. 
They will work Friday now to make up for the lost day.

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


Iowa has made steady progress from last Friday and Saturday’s work. Crew is pulling augers this morning to make adjustments in casing guides. 125’ in so far. 

7:25am- Flatcreek will begin work at MH A28 today to get the 12” line finished up this week. 

8:35am- equipment now moving material around from blasting so that digging can begin. 

9:55am- line work begins at MH A30 working downstream. 

11:05am- digging out still for line, slope anchor and MH A29. 

1:00pm- crew has stopped working due to the jackhammer not functioning. Crew is figuring out what  to do next. 

1:40pm- dozing on cleanup will continue on Rittenhouse and more manholes will get grouted to round out the day. 

2:40pm- MH A17 is getting grout at this time. 

4:14pm- MH A17 now grouted. 

4:50pm- Iowa has about 135’ or so in now.
