Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


It appears that not only drilling, but Blasting also occurred yesterday afternoon. It looks as though it went ok. 

Drilling crew will not be onsite today. 

8:00am- Brush piles are lit on fire this morning as clearing continues between the creek and the tunnel at the railroad tracks. 

9:10am- More piles of brush are set on fire. 

Last turn at MH 26 to Railroad tunnel. 

10:00am- Survey is onsite doing level loops today again.

11:20am- Another large debris pile is formed. 

12:50pm- With the Railroad’s tracks in site, not much more clearing left now. 

1:00pm- Logs are brought over to Access road 3 side of the creek. Fire is creeping out into the grass at the burn pile on this side as crew begins putting it out. 



Since only more clearing is to be done, I will now be headed offsite for rest of today.

Crew is pumping water. Big pump will be looked at today by mechanic when he shows up to see why it’s not pumping. Also crew will only work until 12:00 today due to Holiday tomorrow. 

10:30am- Breaking rock. 

12:00pm- crew is now headed offsite.

Turkey Creek Ph 1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


Flat Creek foreman is not onsite today due to being sick. I have unlocked gates this AM for crews to work. Drilling & Blasting will continue from substation out to roadway or as much as they can get done today. 

8:05am- Bob will continue to clear TCE today as he heads towards tunnel. 

9:30am- Drilling will only be done for the first 100-150 feet today. Blasting will then occur. 

11:25am- Holes are now being loaded for blasting. 

12:40am- Blasting went off ok. Crew has mentioned that they may go ahead and drill more today. 



I’ll now be off offsite due to becoming ill.

Crew pulls off hose to hammer first thing after getting water to begin pumping. A new hose will need to be put on before breaking rock begins. 



7:20am- Ductile pipe will be unloaded this AM also. 

1:05pm- crew has been working to pump water out of hole all day so far. A lot of water is coming in. A new hose was installed and mechanic has shown up today. 



I’ll now be offsite due to becoming ill.

Turkey Creek Ph1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


Excavator is tracking in on Access Road 3 to begin clearing across the creek towards substation. Drilling crew will pick back up at substation and continue drilling today with possible blasting to occur. 
7:25am- Drilling crew preparing machine this morning. I have confirmed that blasting will take place today before noon if everything thing goes as planned. 

9:25am- Drill crew is now up on the flat area in front of substation. 

10:45am- Blasting materials should arrive in the next hour as the crew continues to drill. 

11:30am- Excavator now preparing to cross the creek once these last few trees are removed. 



12:35pm- The first blast of the project is shot at this time. 





2:12pm- Second blast occurs. No more drilling or blasting today. 

Skid steer cleans up rock for access to substation. 

3:00pm- Excavator now across creek with another brush pile getting established. 

5:00pm- All Gates are locked for the weekend. I’ll now be headed offsite.

Crew back at it pumping water this morning again. Small pump is repaired as it was fixed late last night by their mechanic. 

4:15pm- crew still hard at it. Small Pump has been working fine today. 

Crew will be back in the morning to work a half day or so.

Turkey Creek Ph1 - Flat Creek (Line Work)


Crew begins their day setting large brush pile on fire below substation this AM. 

7:30am- Fire starting to burn now. 

7:50am- Drilling crew onsite to begin drilling holes today. Blasting scheduled for tomorrow depending on how today goes. 

11:00am- Two loads of 12” SDR35 & SDR21 pipe have arrived today. Crew will begin unloading and placing it out of the way. 

12:10am- 2nd truck is getting unloaded at the substation site. 

12:30pm- Drilling begins near STA 115+25. 

2:35pm- Drilling has now reached STA 116+40 approximately. 

4:40pm- Drilling crew has made it just about to the top of the hill now. Maybe 20’ to go. A blast should be set off sometime before noon tomorrow. 

Fires are burning up nicely at this time. 

5:00pm- Gates are now locked up and equipment has been moved back to access road 3 so that clearing across the creek can begin tomorrow.
